A decadent chocolate brownie… the ultimate guilty pleasure, right?
Rather than banishing it entirely from your diet – because let’s be honest, it’s delicious but calorific – why not try a lighter, protein-packed, and far healthier version? One that satisfies cravings without a hint of guilt.
My brownie is free from added sugar, only the sugar from the chocolate and made simply with canned chickpeas. Simplicity at its finest.
Chickpeas are nutritional powerhouses: rich in plant-based protein, fibre, and essential minerals such as iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and manganese. They are also a good source of vitamin B9 (folate) and antioxidants, including flavonoids.
Pecans bring healthy fats, texture, and a satisfying crunch.
Ingredients
- 400 g cooked chickpeas
- 3 eggs
- 70 g 70 % dark chocolate
- 20 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 40 g pecans
- 30 g chopped peanuts and pecans for decoration
Method
- Melt the chocolate with a little butter or coconut oil.
- In a bowl, blend the chickpeas and eggs until smooth.
- Fold in the melted chocolate and pecans.
- Pour the mixture into a baking tin and top with the chopped peanuts and pecans.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for 35 minutes.

Serve a slice with a spoonful of local honey… sheer perfection! Finally, you can indulge in a brownie with complete peace of mind, knowing it’s packed with wholesome ingredients.
Enjoy, fellow food lovers! 😉
Bon Appetit
